Elizabeth's refusal and sorrow

Why, I wonder, does Elizabeth not want to traverse to Meryton to visit the most attracting soldiers? I hope this is an allusion, or reference to me that she wants me. I would also like to offer my condolences to the Bennet family for the loss of Mr. Bennet. I knew him for a short time, but came to know he was a respectable and honorable person. May he rest in peace.
